Creating Azure Storage Account

An Azure Storage Account needs to be created in order to use Azure Blob Storage as a remote storage location in QMS.

To create an Azure Storage Account for QMS, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Storage Accounts on Azure Portal

  2. Click Add and complete the following sections:

    1. Basic

      1. Storage account name – The name of the Azure Storage Account. This can be anything that Azure accepts.

      2. Location – Choose the location of the storage. Ideally the location should be close to the location of the QMS server to minimize latency.

      3. Performance – Choose standard or premium performance. In most cases QMS will work fine with standard performance.

      4. Account Kind – Choose StorageV2

      5. Replication – Choose the level of data replication. A higher level of replication means higher availability of the data stored on Azure.

    2. Networking

      1. Connectivity method – Make sure QMS server is allowed to access the storage account

    3. Data Protection – default settings

    4. Advanced – default settings

  3. Create the storage account
