Adding Flags and Notes
While a call is being recorded, the user who is logged into the DU has the capability of adding user flags or entering notes to the recording. This capability is for any recording, regardless of whether the recording was started automatically by the system or on-demand by the user. The Add Flags button and Enter Notes button (#5 and #6 in Figure 1, respectively) are disabled until a recording starts.
-
Click the Add Flags button, or select Add Notes from the context menu of the notification tray icon. The Flags/Notes section will appear, with the Flags tab selected.
-
Click Add, which will add a new Flag row into the table.
-
Select a Flag Name from the drop-down list.
-
Enter a value in the Flag Value field.
-
If the Flag selected is free-form, the Flag Value will be a text field, allowing the user to enter text.
-
If the Flag selected is pre-defined, the Flag Value will be a drop-down list of set values from which the user can select for the Flag.
-
-
Repeat steps 2-4 if more Flags need to be entered.
-
Click Save when all Flags are entered, or click Cancel to revert the changes.
-
Click the Add Flags button again to close the Flags/Notes area.
Alternatively, if the flagging window was opened previously (and left open), you may click the application icon in the task bar to bring it to the front.
|
A Flag can be deleted by clicking the delete icon in the rightmost column of the Flag row that is to be deleted. |
To enter notes for the recording:
-
Click the Enter Notes button, or select Enter Notes from the context menu of the notification tray icon. The Flags/Notes section will appear, with the Notes tab selected.
-
Type the note into the text area. There is a limit of 2000 characters for the note, as indicated by the counter above the text area.
-
Once the note has been entered, click Save, or click Cancel to revert the changes.
-
Click the Enter Notes button again to close the Flags/Notes area.
The active tab is indicated by black text on a white background, while the inactive tab has white text on a blue background. The active tab is also reflected in the Add Flags and Enter Notes buttons—the button corresponding to the active tab has a dark blue background. Switching between the two tabs can be accomplished in a few ways:
-
Clicking each tab directly.
-
Clicking the inactive tab’s button, indicated by a light blue background.
-
Clicking the inactive tab’s menu item in the context menu of the notification tray icon.
|
If the DU user has made any changes to either tab, and has not saved those changes by the time the active call ends, a warning message is displayed at the top of the Flags/Notes area to inform the user that changes must be saved before Flags or Notes can be added to the next active call. |
