Step 15 – Enable Replication-Safe DB Save
Prior to Entity Framework (EF) Core 7.0, SQL Server would save changes using a technique that always worked.
With EF Core 7.0 and later, SQL Server now saves changes via a new technique. Unfortunately, this new save technique is not supported if the target table has database triggers as is the case with DB replication. Saving a DB table that contains triggers on EF Core 7.0 or later will cause an exception.
However, we can work around this by letting EF Core know triggers exist and it will revert to the original save technique.
The Data Service has this work around built in but it is turned off by default. To turn it on, you must add a CallRex 'System' configuration setting called, 'EnableDbReplicationSafeSave', and set it to true. You can add the setting using the QMSConfig application.
Do this on the Primary and Secondary Servers.
