Remote Deployment

If RTPDataCollector needs to be installed on a large number of machines using the Endpoint-based recording model shown above, Active Directory deployment mechanisms can be used. The RTPDataCollector msi is built to support automatic remote Deployment Options for RTP Data Collector deployments.

Follow the instructions to deploy RTPDataCollector remotely to multiple PCs; on the Domain Controller for the Enterprise:

  1. Go to Administrative Tools and select Group Policy Management.

  2. Under the domain, select the appropriate Domain Policy and click the Edit button.

  3. A new Group Policy Object Editor mmc opens up.

  4. Under Computer Configuration > Software Settings, right-click Software Installation and select New > Package.

  5. Select the RTPDataCollector msi package that you want to distribute to all the computers in the domain policy.

  6. In the Deploy Software window that opens up next, select Advanced as the deployment type.

  7. In the next window, click on the Modifications tab and click on the Add button and select the appropriate transform file for the application and click OK.

  8. The transform file contains the custom configuration data (user input that would've been captured if the msi was run manually) that is needed while the RtpDataCollector msi is run.

  9. The only field that requires data from the user in the transform file is the Call Recording Service field.

  10. All computers in the domain policy that startup next will have the RTPDataCollector service installed on their system.
