A data collector is usually a remote site installation of the same CallRex services that run on a main server, except there is no database and there is no CallRex Data Service. Data Collectors provide a way of capturing call control and audio for agents outside of the main site network. They also allow capturing disparate PBX traffic on a single CallRex system.
This section of the Help describes:
CallRex Call Recording Service - This is the only CallRex service that needs to be installed on a data collector.
CallRex Data Service - This is a central service that manages SQL database access and client connections. It only needs to be installed on main CallRex Servers (not needed on data collectors.
