Volume Adjustments

Sometimes the volume from a specific phone handset or voice gateway can be too quiet or too loud, resulting in recordings where one party is loud and the other party is quiet. If this consistently happens, you can adjust the audio volume of all calls from that IP address.

This is a two-step process:

  • First identify the IP address of the specific phone handset (or gateway)
  • Then define the volume adjustment

Once you have saved the volume adjustment, the change takes effect immediately. So the next recorded call on that handset/gateway will have a change in volume.

Users with the Change System Settings permission in their Security Profile can edit the volume adjustments.

To edit the volume adjustments click the navigation icon and then click the General link from the administration sub-menu. The General tab displays. To edit the volume adjustments, complete the following fields of the Volume Adjustments section.

  1. Enter an address in the IP Address field.
  2. Drag the slider to define the Volume Factor between 0.5 (half volume) and 2.0 (double volume). The default volume factor setting of 1 would effectively have no change (same volume).
  3. Click the button to add the new setting to the volume adjustments table.
  4. Click the Save button to save the settings.

Select an existing IP address and click the button to edit the settings. Move the slider to change the settings.

Select an IP address and click the button to delete the settings. Remember to click the Save button afterwards.
